New AFA Film ‘The God Who Speaks’ Features Most Able Defenders of the Faith

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 @ 09:34 AM

TUPELO, Miss.—The new feature-length film from the American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) called “The God Who Speaks” brings together the most celebrated apologists, writers, speakers, authors and thinkers who use their experience, research skills and God-given talents to present answers to some of the age-old questions about the Bible.

“The God Who Speaks,” produced by American Family Studios (www.americanfamilystudios.net), a division of AFA, is a powerful 90-minute documentary that explores the evidence of the Bible’s inspiration and authority through some of the world’s most respected biblical scholars.

“‘The God Who Speaks’ is a film that will be used as an effective tool for decades to come,” said M.D. Perkins, the movie’s director. “Our aim was to answer common objections and observe the effects of denying biblical authority, which was accomplished through the many great minds who convened for the project. ‘The God Who Speaks’ also intends to reveal the trustworthiness of the Bible’s claims and will help many of today’s Christians defend their faith in a culture that is often hostile to their beliefs. We’re excited to offer this film to churches, small groups and families so they can come together and learn how to truly back up the timeless truths that God has given all of us through His Word.”

“The God Who Speaks” brings together major players in apologetics, including the recently passed R.C. Sproul of Ligonier Ministries, Alistair Begg of Parkside Church, Norman Geisler of Southern Evangelical Seminary, Josh McDowell of Josh McDowell Ministries, R. Albert Mohler of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Alex McFarland of Alex McFarland Ministries and Frank Turek of Cross Examined Ministries.

Attendees to McFarland’s upcoming “Truth for a New Generation” conference on March 23-24 in Jamestown, North Carolina, will have a chance to view the movie at the two-day event with the theme of “Save a Nation.” McDowell will also be a speaker at the conference.

Also contributing to the film are Darrell Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary, D.A. Carson of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Gareth Cockerill of Wesley Biblical Seminary, Kevin DeYoung of University Reformed Church, J. Ligon Duncan III of Reformed Theological Seminary, Karen H. Jobes of Wheaton College, Michael J. Kruger of Reformed Theological Seminary, Erwin Lutzer of The Moody Church, Conrad Mbewe of Kabwata Baptist Church, William D. Mounce of BiblicalTraining.org, John N. Oswalt of Asbury Theological Seminary, Vern Poythress of Westminster Theological Seminary, Carl R. Trueman of Westminster Theological Seminary, Daniel B. Wallace of Dallas Theological Seminary, Jarvis J. Williams of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Ben Witherington III of Asbury Theological Seminary.

“The God Who Speaks” is also produced by Jeff Chamblee, director of American Family Studios. For more on the film, click here. The two-DVD set with two hours of bonus content, as well as digital downloads, will be available later this week, on Thursday, Feb. 1, at www.TheGodWhoSpeaks.org.
