American Family Association: Fiscally Irresponsible Spending Bills Are Not Only Wasteful But Also Continue to Subsidize Planned Parenthood
TUPELO, Miss.—House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) announced today that the House of Representatives will likely pass a spending bill to avoid government shutdown, NPR reported.
The American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) says the bill isn’t in the best interest of Americans—and isn’t what Republicans have promised.
“Once again, Republicans in Congress have teamed up with the Democrats to pass another series of fiscally irresponsible spending bills for fiscal year 2019,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “Not only are these bills full of wasteful government spending, they continue to subsidize Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion mill. Abortion is murder—plain and simple. Another egregious fact about this legislation is that it does not ban federal funding of embryonic stem cell research on aborted babies. Republicans have pledged over the years to stop sending taxpayer funds to Planned Parenthood. Over and over again, they have failed to follow through on this promise. The only hope for conservatives is that President Donald Trump will say ‘enough is enough’ and utilize his veto pen to force Congress to stop funding organizations that perform abortions.”
