American Family Association Reminds America, ‘Marriage is the Centerpiece of the Family’ (1)

TUPELO, Miss. — American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) has created “By Design” – a project to reintroduce America to the biblical definition of marriage. “By Design” reclaims the truth of marriage and family as defined by God.

According to AFA’s General Counsel Abraham Hamilton III, “Marriage is the centerpiece of family. Our goal is to educate and encourage people to embrace God’s design for marriage and family as the fundamental building block for all of human civilization, and celebrate the life-long union of one man and one woman as the objective institution that produces human flourishing.”

AFA references several startling statistics, such as how marriage reduces the probability of child poverty by 80%, and that children raised in married parent families are two times less likely to drop out of high school. According to research statistics on the “By Design” website, marriage is America’s strongest anti-poverty, anti-crime, pro-health institution.

The hope for “By Design” is to remind the American people that God’s plan is always perfect; He created a flawless design for marriage, and by adhering to and following His Word, human civilization can thrive while celebrating the true purpose of marriage and family.
