American Family Association: The Administration is Bullying Employers about Mandates while Violating Sacred Rights of Conscience
TUPELO, Miss. — The current administration, through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), says it will use the full force of the law to force companies with more than 100 employees to ensure that each one is vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 4 or be tested weekly for the virus. In response to this tactic, the American Family Association (AFA, afa.net), along with other companies, filed a lawsuit to stop this outrageous federal overreach, and the U.S. Fifth Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay on the vaccination mandate on November 6.
AFA Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano commented, “We have almost come full circle in America. As a nation, our independence began in response to a king and the mandates of a government that trampled the rights of colonists. In 2021, we are battling in court against a president who acts like a king and an intrusive, coercive bureaucracy that is similarly trampling not only constitutional liberties but also basic human rights.
“AFA will not force its employees to violate their consciences just because the federal government is breathing threats against employers. The only thing the Biden administration hasn’t said in this debacle is, ‘It would be a shame if something happened to your business.’ We won’t act as leg-breakers for a government that is more like an organized crime enterprise than representatives who serve the people.”
AFA is working to protect its employees from severe governmental overreach, a violation of employees’ rights of conscience, and an invasion of health care privacy.
