American Family Association urges America to regain its biblical worldview by returning to Christian foundation

Monday, May 23, 2022 @ 08:23 AM

TUPELO, Miss. — American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) recently responded to new research on the disappearing American biblical worldview conducted by Dr. George Barna at Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Research Center. Barna reported that while 67% of American parents of pre-teens feel they are “Christian,” a mere 2% of them actually possess a distinct view of the world and their lives that can accurately be defined as biblical. These parents claim to identify as Christian, but they don’t believe the Bible is “reliable or true, or relevant to their lives.”

For AFA, a leading organization in biblical worldview training for cultural transformation, this report is particularly appalling.

“A tragedy is unfolding right before our very eyes, as a nation that was founded upon Christian principles voluntarily jettisons the foundation stones,” said AFA’s Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano. “The unhappy results are just what one would expect if they actually had a biblical worldview: America is coming apart at the seams. With only 2% possessing a Christian view of life, what can we expect in the coming years but decay and violence, the strangling of prosperity, and eventually the end of liberty. If the American church doesn’t pursue holiness once more and boldly proclaim the gospel, the country might very well disappear from history.”
