TUPELO, Miss. — The American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) applauds Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves for proclaiming June as Sanctity of Life Month in Mississippi. AFA is strongly encouraging pro-life organizations in other states to work with their political leaders to have similar proclamations issued, making June “Sanctity of Life Month,” a time to remember and celebrate the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

In his June 29 Tweet about the proclamation, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said:

Ronald Reagan once said, “The values and freedoms we cherish as Americans rest on our fundamental commitment to the sanctity of human life.”

Recognizing this, and celebrating the recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, I have declared June to be Sanctity of Life Month!

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net), said Governor Reeves’ proclamation shows how state-level pro-life groups can make their voices heard and advance the pro-life cause.

Tim Wildmon, president of AFA, stated, “The overturning of Roe v. Wade is an answer to almost 50 years of prayer on the part of the church in America. Making June a month to commemorate this victory, which we hope will serve as a hedge against our culture of death, is a wonderful follow-up to the high court ruling. AFA thanks Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves for signing this proclamation, and we encourage pro-lifers in every state to consider following suit.”
