Dr. Jameson Taylor

Director of Government Affairs

Jameson Taylor is director of the Center for Governmental Renewal. Jameson’s mission is to equip Christian lawmakers to champion policies aimed at renewing and strengthening families and churches. He has a 20-year track record of advancing pro-life, pro-family, and pro-liberty policies in multiple states. Here in Mississippi, he helped draft the pro-life law that led to the U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs case and led the coalition to get it passed. He is also the architect of Mississippi’s Children’s Promise Act and Pregnancy Resource Act – two innovative tax credit programs providing millions of dollars in funding for mothers, disabled children, children in foster care, and low-income families. Jameson is responsible for passing best-in-the-nation welfare-to-work reform in Mississippi as well as best-in-the-nation religious liberty protections. He is a three-time Earhart Fellow, a Publius Fellow with the Claremont Institute, an E.A. Morris Fellow, and a founding member of the Mississippi Faith Advisory Council. He holds an A.B. in government from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D. in politics from the University of Dallas.
