Who's Misleading Us, the FBI or the FBI?

DAILY STAND EMAIL
Tuesday, September 04, 2018 @ 10:11 AM Who's Misleading Us, the FBI or the FBI? Walker Wildmon Vice President of Operations MORE

In 2015 and 2016, the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated Secretary Clinton’s private email server and issued a report on their findings. On multiple occasions, the FBI admitted that Hillary Clinton, while Secretary of State, used a private email server to send and receive classified information. What was not known was that China had access to nearly all of these emails.

On August 27, 2018, it was reported that “a Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server throughout her term as secretary of state and obtained nearly all her emails, two sources briefed on the matter told The Daily Caller News Foundation.” The story goes on to say that the “Chinese firm obtained Clinton’s emails in real time as she sent and received communications and documents through her personal server, according to the sources, who said the hacking was conducted as part of an intelligence operation. The Chinese wrote code that was embedded in the server, which was kept in Clinton’s residence in upstate New York. The code generated an instant ‘courtesy copy’ for nearly all of her emails and forwarded them to the Chinese company, according to the sources.”

The FBI issued a statement following the August 27 Daily Caller report saying that it had no evidence to suggest that China had access to Mrs. Clinton’s private server.

Who’s telling the truth? Let’s find out.

At some point early in the FBI’s investigation, likely in late 2015, officials with the Secretary of State’s Inspector General office met with FBI officials Peter Strzok and others notifying them that there was evidence suggesting a foreign actor (China) had access to the Clinton server. The Inspector General’s office had access to this information because they originated the entire investigation in April of 2015. It has been reported that the FBI failed to take this information seriously.

Fast forward to July 5, 2016. Then FBI Director James Comey made a public statement in which he explained his finding regarding the Clinton email investigation. Here is a key portion of his statement; “With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clinton's personal e-mail domain in its various configuration since 2009 was hacked successfully. But given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence. We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial e-mail accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account. We also assess that Secretary Clinton's use of a personal domain was both known by a large number of people and readily apparent. She also used her personal e-mail extensively while outside of the United States, including sending and receiving work-related e-mails in the territory of sophisticated adversaries. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton's personal e-mail account.” (Emphasis mine)

In 2016 the FBI claimed that they didn’t find “direct evidence” that the email account of Mrs. Clinton was hacked successfully. James Comey goes on to say that “hostile actors” gained access to the private commercial email accounts of Clinton associates. Comey concludes by admitting that it is “possible” that hostile actors gained access to Mrs. Clinton’s email account.

Which one is it? Either her system was hacked or it wasn’t. If Comey honestly didn’t know which one it was then he should have said so.

The reality is that James Comey and even the current FBI leadership, including Christopher Wray, know that Hillary Clinton’s email server was compromised by the Chinese. The only way they can hide behind the statement saying that the “FBI has not found evidence” suggesting that China hacked the server is because technically the FBI didn’t find the evidence. The Inspector General found the evidence and shared it with the FBI.

This misleading statement, intended to undermine the truthful reporting by the Daily Caller, reflects poorly on the top law enforcement agency in America. It is past time that President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions get a hold of our Justice Department and put an end to the corruption that began under President Obama.
