It All Turns to Rust or Dust

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ (Philippians 3:7, 8 NLT).

I still have many friends who are chasing the desires of this world. They are trying to outdo the "Jones'" next door with the nicest house, car, dog, etc. They have not discovered what real life is. Folks, real life is having Jesus as your Savior. That is real, very real.

Father God, I pray that many people will see that their worldly "idols" are just that; of this world and merely worldly idolatry. Dear Lord, lead us and direct us into Your desires and not ours. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Tuesday

Hope

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying (Romans 12:12 NLT).

Our hope is not in this world but in God. We will have trouble and trials as we walk through life, but God provides strength to endure. Stay strong and pray.

Dear Lord, thank You for your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Wednesday

Where Are You Putting Your Trust?

Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock (Isaiah 26:4 NLT).

Are you trusting totally in God? In reality, we tend to trust in the things of this world. Folks, remember, anything of this world is only temporary. God is eternal. Stand on His Rock and don't waiver. He will bless you and provide for your needs.

Dear Father, bring us to a deeper understanding of Your hand of eternal trust. In the name of Jesus, I ask and pray. Amen.

Thursday

We Are All a Work-in-Progress

Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience (Titus 2:2 NLT).

Hmm, self-control, respectful, full of faith, love, and patience... I have some work to do, on myself. How about you?

Dear Father, let us be raw steel and be ready to be shaped into Your likeness. Father God, hone us into what you want us to be. Lord, put us into the fire to harden us and strengthen us. Put us to Your grinder stone and shape us to what You desire. Finally, put us to the final sharpening stone, the smooth stone that brings forth a flawless edge and razor sharpness, gently guiding us over this stone so we might be made perfect, in Your image. All of this is for Your glory, not ours. Then Father, use us for Your purpose. We lay our lives at the foot of the cross, we are Yours, Father. Amen.

Friday

We Are His Children

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you (Psalms 37:4-5 NLT).

Will anyone join me in this prayer? Can you imagine the power of God that would be unleashed if we did this?
Thank you, God! You give us your love and your amazing grace.

Dear Lord, we pray that we will do our best to live more like a child of Yours today than we did yesterday. Amen.

Saturday

God's Plan

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved (Romans 10:9-10 NLT).

Ladies and gentlemen- THIS IS GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION. Don't make it so difficult. Jesus did the hard part, all we have to do is accept Him and what He did, for us.

Father, thank You for Your perfect plan. We praise Your mighty name.

Sunday

Always There

I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me (Psalms 16:8 NLT).

Do you know that God is always with you? He is there in good times and especially there in bad times. During the bad times, He is the One who is picking you up then holding you up. God will sustain you through the valleys of life. Trust in Him and praise Him in the good times but exclaim your love and need for Him in the bad times.

Lord God, help us to feel Your presence when we are in the valley of life. Help us to realize that You will never leave us and will always be there to help us pick up the pieces when this world comes crashing down around us. Lead us Lord into a closer relationship with You. I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
