Mud & Muck or Super Highways
Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you (Psalm 25:4-5 NLT).
In my "BC" (before I accepted Christ) days, I followed a lot of bad roads. I traveled gravel and dirt trails through muck and mud. I'm sure that many of you tried to blaze your own paths also.
I think the main point I would like to get across today is when we come to Christ, those old, muddy trails are forgotten. Our life of transgressions is wiped clean. A new life begins. We can now begin traveling the interstate highways of life and have a secure hope in eternity in heaven.
Thank You God!!! Lord, You are amazing. Thank You for saving a wretch like me! In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, we praise You, Father. Amen.
Tuesday
Where Are You Standing?
Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the LORD (Psalm 26:12 NLT).
Are you standing on solid ground? Have you made your camp on the Rock? Everyone has a choice. Will you choose God's gift of salvation or the way of the world? Please choose wisely. Your decision has eternal consequences.
Lord God, help those that are living outside of Your plan see the error of their ways. Open their eyes that they might see Your way is best for them and for all those around them. A heart that is changed in one person, affects many others. When we accept Your son and His plan, we bring other lives into an area of solid ground, Your solid ground, Lord. Lead us, today Lord, in Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen.
Wednesday
Simple Question
For nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37 NLT).
Do you believe that nothing is impossible with God?
When we really get down to the roots of our faith, we have to ask God to show us our shortcomings in faith and in life and in our walk with Him.
We all go through trials and valleys in our lives, does it take those bad and tough times to draw us closer to God?
We must also remember that in the good times we should praise Him and ask Him to show us our failings and shortcomings plus how we can better serve Him.
God is awesome and He has a perfect plan for our lives. We must remember that His plan may differ from our plan and we must be open to His direction for our lives.
Thanks be to God.
Dear Father, thank You for Your limitless mercy, grace, and love. Amen.
Thursday
Take Care on Who You Follow
Then Jesus gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch? Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher (Luke 6:39-40 NLT).
There are many people that are leading others to false religions, take care of who you follow.
Lord God, open our eyes to see Your truth. Help us to not believe the false teachings and the lies of this world. Give us Your power to rebuke Satan and all of his demons. Lead us today, Lord, out of the valley and help us climb the mountain that is in front of us. We ask and pray in the mighty name of our Savior and King, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Friday
God Provides
“And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for” (1 John 5:14-15 NLT).
God hears our prayers and supplies our needs. Trust in Him for He is good.
Dear Lord, help us to trust in You during the times of standing in the wilderness of life. Help us to know that You have a plan and it will be beneficial for us to be still, listen and wait on You. We ask You, Lord, to meet and exceed our needs today and forever. In the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen.
Saturday
The Only One Who Saves
Those who heard Jesus use this illustration didn’t understand what he meant, so he explained it to them: “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep (John 10:6-11 NLT).
Satan roams this world, looking for opportunities to pull the lost into his grasp. The devil is relentless in his search to ruin lives with his lies and evil. BUT, we have a Savior that will put Satan under our feet. The devil can't stand where Jesus has a foothold.
Father God, we pray for those that don't know Jesus or don't know about His saving grace. Lord, we pray that You will touch those who have hardened hearts and those that have turned from You and will not listen to truth. Lord, open the eyes, minds, and hearts of those that desperately need You. We pray for those that are too prideful or broken to accept You as their Savior. We pray that You will use Your children to share the Gospel everywhere. We pray that You will embolden the meek to stand up and speak Your truth. Lead us and direct us today, Lord. We pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, amen.
Sunday
Boast Only In Jesus
Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law (Romans 3:23-24, 27-28 NLT).
For everyone has sinned. We all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. He freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Dear Lord, we boast only in You!! Thank You, God, for being God the Son, Jesus. It is only by His sacrificial death that we are able to have a relationship with You. We are incapable of living a sinless life and following Your law. But by Your blood, our lives are made clean, our past transgressions are wiped clean. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' mighty name, we are made pure and righteous. Amen.
