God's Light & Truth

Send out your light and your truth;
let them guide me.
Let them lead me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you live (Psalm 43:3 NLT).

Lord, you know that we all fail your standards. You know we are undeserving of your love, mercy, and grace, but you chose to love us anyway. Thank You, Lord.

Father, you could have let us live our lives without you only to die and rot in the grave, but you sent Your Son so that we might be saved. Your Son, Jesus Christ, died not because we are deserving but because we are worthy. Lord, you deemed us worthy and call us to be Your children. I thank You God for loving us when we aren't very lovable. Lord, I thank you for being faithful, even when we are unfaithful.

Lord, I lift our nation up to you that we will come to our knees in repentance and turn from our wicked ways. I pray that as a nation we will quit trying to do what “we” want and start doing what You want. Lord God, please turn us back to you. Shine Your Light on us. Let your truth reign. Lead us to You Lord so that we might be called Your valued children. Forgive us Lord. We pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Tuesday

It's Not Complicated

For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17 NLT)

Don't make it complicated. We are all sinners. Through Adam, sin entered the world. But God had a plan. He sent Jesus Christ to die for our sin so that we might have a right relationship with Him. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we have an opportunity to enter a relationship with God, our Father. It is our choice. I pray that everyone realizes the eternal need to choose wisely.

Accept Jesus now. Don't wait. It's so very important that you don't wait. It has eternal ramifications.

Father God, let those, who are trying to get themselves "right" before they come to You know that will never happen. We can't be made "right" without You, Lord. Jesus accepts us as we are, but loves us too much to leave us as we are. When we accept His love, mercy, and grace and repent of our sins, He begins the change in our lives. The heavenly construction project begins.
Father, help them to understand that we never know when our last breath will occur and without Jesus we are doomed to spend eternity separated from You. I pray that you will open the hearts and minds of Your lost children to humble themselves and know that they need a Savior. I pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.

Wednesday

Triumph Over Sin, Condemnation, and Death

And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone (Romans 5:16-18 NLT).

There is but one way to escape a life of sin, Jesus Christ.

There is only one way to avoid condemnation, Jesus Christ.

There is only one way to secure everlasting life in heaven, Jesus Christ.

One Way, One Truth, One Light and it's your decision. Choose wisely. Your decision has eternal consequences.

Thank You, Father God, for Your love, mercy, and grace. In the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.

Thursday

Equipped

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV).

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. That has been said by many people for years, and it's so true. Through the Holy Spirit, God instructs us and directs our path. We are equipped not by what we can do, but what God can and will do through us.

I encourage everyone to sit down with God's Word and ask the Holy Spirit to direct your reading and understanding. It is amazing what God will show you as you read. You might even be reading the same passage that you have read many times and God will give you another point He wants you to see from it.

God's Word is refereed to as the living Word. It's an accurate statement. God's Word never changes. His Word, being the living Word, will direct your thoughts and understanding to a new level as you ask the Holy Spirit to lead and direct you as you read. His word is alive.

Thank You, Lord, for not only giving us a road map for life, but giving us Your Guide to lead us in our understanding. The Holy Bible is as true today as it was when it was written. Amen.

FRIDAY

The Pathway

Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there! You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds (Psalms 77:19, 20 NLT).

When all hope looks dim, when life just stinks and you can't see your way through the mess that you're in, remember this:

God has a path, a trail, a way for you.
You might not be able to see the road but if you stay in His word, prayerfully seeking His guidance, He will make a way for you.

Just read today's verses and think of what Moses and the Israelite people faced when they had the pharaoh's soldiers and chariots chasing them straight into a seemingly impassable sea of water.

Remember, ALL things are possible with God.

Dear Lord, help us to keep looking up to You even when we think we are in a place in life that is seemingly impossible to navigate. Remind us, Lord, that we need to open Your Word, the road-map for life, and dwell there, soaking up Your guidance. Lead us and direct us in Your ways and not ours. Help us to trust totally in You for all that we need. As needy people, we come to You on our knees praying in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.

Saturday

Salvation

For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:11-12 NLT).

We cannot save ourselves - no matter how good we are. Only Jesus can.

Father God, thank You for saving us from ourselves. Let us remember Your grace today and every day. Without our faith and Your grace we would be doomed to eternal separation from You and everything good. We praise Your mighty name and give thanks and pray in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Sunday

Unleashing God's Plan

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago (Ephesians 2:10 NLT).

Not only did God save us from eternal hell by sending His Son on a rescue mission, but God has a plan for each of us. That plan can only be unleashed by Christ Jesus living in our hearts.

Are you ready to be the masterpiece God created you to be?

Father God, sometimes we don't see ourselves as a masterpiece. A lot of the time we see ourselves as fallen, broken creatures, just existing and walking through life. Lord God, open the hearts and the minds of Your children so that we will see the masterpiece that You have created. Give us the faith that we need to be totally dependent on You, Lord. Help us, Lord, to trust in You through the tough times. Father God, pick us up when we have fallen down, lead us when we are blind, and help us when we feel helpless. Lord, we give our lives to You. Do what you will with us and lead us down Your path of righteousness. Father God, Your will, nothing more; nothing less; nothing else. We ask in the mighty and matchless name of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
