Our Roots

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:7 NLT).

If we build our lives on the values of this world, we will wash away without a lasting legacy.

If we build our lives on the Rock of our Savior, all of heaven's glory will be our legacy.

Thank You, Father, for sending us the Rock, the Anchor for our souls. His name is Jesus and in His mighty name we give You praise and lift up our prayers. Amen.

In a Box

Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding (Isaiah 40:28 NLT).

Have you put God in a box? Do you put human restraints on Him? I don't think we can ever overestimate how big God is! Our imagination can't even begin to imagine His love, His grace, and His mercy.

Let God out of the box you have placed Him in. There is nothing that He can't do. Pray for His perfect will in your life. Let Him have control.

Dear Lord, our lives are Yours. Come out of the box that we've placed You in and do Your wonderful works through our lives. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.

 Wednesday

In Times of Peril

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters (Psalm 18:16 NIV).

No matter what is going on in the world or our lives, know that nothing catches God by surprise. He is in control.  Turn to Him and trust that He will bring us through the perils of life.

Lord, we lift our hands high to Your throne. We are in dire need of You. Many don't know you. Many have turned from You. Lord, we ask that you not forget Your righteous few. Lord, save us from this evil and destructive world. Come, Lord, take our hands. Amen.

Thursday

A Representative

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ (Colossians 3:23-24 NLT).

No matter what you do as an occupation, remember if you are a Christian, you are representing Jesus. Especially in a secular job, people are watching.

I've heard people say "Oh, I don't go to church because I work with people that go to church and they live like hell and are hypocrites." We can't live like a heathen and not expect it to influence others in a bad way. I have had my share of failings in my life as a Christian. Those failings were by my poor choices and decisions. Many times you must decide on living in God's will or living in the way of the world. It's our decision, we must choose wisely.

In all we do, do it as you are doing it for Jesus. By doing that, we will be blessed. Our goal should be to bless others and glorify our Lord.

Dear Lord, help us to be more like you, today than we were yesterday. Amen.

Friday

Let Him Lead You

This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow (Isaiah 48:17 NLT).
So, you are struggling with life, with decisions, and junk? Why not listen to God and follow His roadmap for life?

Pray, listen, and read His Word! It's God that has you in the palm of His hand. Let Him be God. Follow and pray for His will.

Dear Lord, your will; nothing more; nothing less; nothing else. Amen.

Saturday

We Are All Broken Sinners

I'm no different than any other Christ follower. I'm broken and a sinner, but I realize that I need Jesus, every day of my life. I'm not always a good example for others. That is just the way it is. I feel like what the Apostle Paul said, in Romans 7:18, "For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out."

But, Paul continues to write: "Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin" (Romans 7:24-25 NLT).

Our hope is not in ourselves but in Christ Jesus. Please keep me and all our Christian friends in your prayers, as we ALL need help fighting the lure of this broken world. God bless each of you.

Father God, please help us to be better followers of Jesus. Help us to strive to do good and do right. Help us realize we are all broken and are in need of the mercy, grace, and the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We ask and pray in His mighty name. Amen.

Sunday

The Amazing Love of God

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39 NLT).

Nothing, NOTHING, can separate us from the love of our God. NOTHING! We might choose to separate ourselves from Him but His love remains for us. He comes to us as we are but will never leave us as we are.

God has given us free choice and free will so be aware that what we choose has eternal consequences.

Dear Father, help us all understand how important our choices are. Father, You have given us free will and we pray that we will understand that our decision to accept Jesus affects our current life on earth and more importantly our eternity. Your love, Father, remains but our decision must be made. It is a decision with eternal consequences. Father God, help us realize that we must choose Jesus. Amen.
