Our Path

Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you (Psalm 25:4-5 NLT).

We tend to travel the path of least resistance. We often take the easiest trail through the woods deviating from the right path while not following the road map or trail guides.

Many times, God shows us the right path but we choose to follow our own scribbled map and compromised compass. Isn't it time to stop following our desires and start reading God's Word and following His map for life?

Isn't it time we realize it is God who supplies all of our needs? Isn't it time to stop running from His directions? Isn't it time to put all of our hope and trust in Him and stop following the path that is paved toward destruction?

Thank you, Lord God, for giving us the true path to a better and fulfilled life – now and eternally. It is in the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Tuesday

Staying On Track

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105 KJV).

It is pretty simple. Do you want to live a life that is fulfilling and serving God? Do you want the best life has to offer?

Answer: Read God's Word. Pretty simple solution.

Father God, increase our desire to be closer to you. Help us to realize we need to spend more time in your Holy Word. Lead us and direct us by your Holy Spirit today and forever. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen.

Wednesday

Choosing Wisely

As the Scriptures say, "No one is righteous— not even one" (Romans 3:10 NLT).

We are all broken sinners. We are utter failures at living a Christ-like life. I do believe God smiles at our trying to live a perfect life because He knows it's an impossible task. Does that mean we shouldn't try to lead a life that honors Him? Heavens, no!

What it means is we should try but we also should know we each need the Savior – Jesus Christ. He's our only shot at heaven and an eternal relationship in the very presence of God. Accept Christ, repent, and do your best to turn from your evil ways. It's our choice. Choose wisely.

Lord God, help us to die to ourselves and open our hearts and lives up to you. May many be saved by accepting Jesus today. Amen.

Thursday

Listening

(Jesus speaking)
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one" (John 10:27-30 NLT).

Are you listening? Jesus Christ wants your undivided attention. He wants you to accept Him as your personal Savior. He wants everyone to join Him in heaven when this life is done. Jesus doesn't want anyone to perish.

Now is the time. Tomorrow may never come. Listen to His voice.

Lord God, open the hearts and minds of the lost and bring them back into your fold. We pray in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Friday

Real Peace

And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever (Isaiah 32:17 NLT).

In our crazy and busy lives, we just need to sit down and take a deep breath. We get so busy, we forget the peace God offers us. We forget He tells us to come and rest in Him.

Folks, if we keep God first, life gets much more manageable. Not that life will be easy, but with Him first, we can deal with the junk in our lives much better.

When we trust and put our hope in Him, we also have the comfort of knowing our eternity is secure. Now that is real peace. Thank you, Jesus!

Father God, help us to rest in your peace. In Christ's name, Amen.

Saturday

His Work

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you set in place – what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor (Psalm 8:3-5 NLT).

We are such minuscule beings in this vast world. We should count our blessings and thank God because He loves us. He knew us when He formed us in our mothers’ wombs. He loves us from the cradle to the grave. Do you understand the scope of that love? Are you praising Him for being His precious creation?

Do you realize God loves us so much He left heaven to come to earth (in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ), to live as one of us, and then sacrificed Himself for us? He died a physical, humiliating, excruciatingly painful death so we might have eternity in heaven with Him. He died so we might live. He says through Him we are saved, our relationship with God restored.

Now, how awesome is that? Thanks be to God!

Father, we are truly undeserving of your mercy, grace, and love, but that doesn't stop you from greeting us with open arms and pronouncing us worthy through Christ. Lord God, we can't run away from your love. Help us to stop running and let you work in our lives. We ask and pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Sunday

The Pathway

Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters – a pathway no one knew was there! You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds (Psalm 77:19-20 NLT).

When all hope looks dim, when life just stinks and you can't see your way through the mess you're in, remember God has a path, a trail, a way for you.

You might not be able to see the road, but if you stay in His Word, prayerfully seeking His guidance, He will make a way for you.

Just read today's verses and think of what Moses and the Israelite people faced when they had the pharaoh's soldiers and chariots chasing them straight to the edge of a seemingly impassable sea.

Remember, ALL things are possible with God.

Dear Lord, help us to keep looking up to you, even when we think we are in a place in life that is seemingly impossible to navigate. Remind us, Lord, how and why we need to open your Word, the roadmap for life, and dwell there, soaking up your guidance. Lead us and direct us in your ways and not yours. Help us to trust totally in you for all we need. As needy people, we come to you on our knees, praying in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
