American Family Association Sponsoring Pro-Life Summit on Jan. 25 in Washington, D.C.

TUPELO, Miss.—American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) will be a sponsor of this weekend’s National Pro-Life Summit, a one-day event that provides education, training, and networking opportunities with pro-life activists from across America.

 “For most, if not all, of AFA’s 40-plus-year history, protecting and defending life has been a cornerstone of our organization,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “Several of AFA’s 2019 Action Alerts to our 1 million friends and supporters have urged legislators to enact pro-life legislation, thanked President Trump for his pro-life actions, called on the NEA to drop its pro-abortion stance, thanked Wendy’s for its amazing pro-adoption work to help children and much more.

 “AFA believes life begins at conception,” he continued. “Furthermore, a baby’s heartbeat can be detected at six weeks of pregnancy according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) website. ACOG further indicates that in the sixth to eighth week of pregnancy, all major organs have started to develop, as well as the baby’s eyes, ears and nose. Even Planned Parenthood recognizes these same scientific facts. A baby in the womb has her own unique DNA, her own unique heartbeat, her own unique fingerprints. She’s not just a part of the mother, but her own unique person. Every baby, both born and unborn, deserves to have her life protected.”

 Representing American Family Association at the Summit will be Joseph Parker, director of outreach and intercession and host of “The Hour of Intercession” on American Family Radio.

 The 2020 Summit, with the theme “History Maker: Casting a Vision for a Post-Roe America,” follows the annual, historic March for Life in Washington, D.C., set for Jan. 24 with the 2020 theme of “Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman.” State marches are also planned around the country.
