U.S. Supreme Court allows removal of a transgender child from home to stand

Monday, March 25, 2024 @ 08:16 AM

TUPELO, Miss. — The U.S. Supreme Court recently declined to hear a case involving a Catholic parents’ custody battle after they declined to recognize their transgender son’s so-called female identity. The couple’s religious beliefs regarding sexuality and gender did not allow them to accept their son’s gender transition, which then led the Indiana Department of Child Services to conduct an investigation in the household. In a statement after the Supreme Court recently denied their case, parents Mary and Jeremy Cox said, “We can't change the past, but we will continue to fight for a future where parents of faith can raise their children without fear of state officials knocking on their doors and taking their children.”

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) President Tim Wildmon suggests the Supreme Court’s inaction will only encourage sex and gender radicals.

“Having rejected Scripture and the God of the Bible, many in our nation are also drifting toward a full repudiation of the natural order created by Almighty God,” says Wildmon. “Nothing will stand in the way of these radical leftists –– certainly not the First Amendment or parental rights. But these types of tragedies are not simply happening in the Blue States; they’re occurring wherever the ‘progressive’ left has captured institutional power –– as in the case of Indiana’s Department of Child Services. Christians need to either wake up and fight back against the ‘woke’ behemoth or prepare to be trampled by it.”
