AFA: Trump Will Make America Great

TUPELO, Miss.—After voters across the country elected Donald Trump in one of the most historic and crucial elections in the nation’s history, the American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) released the following statement.

“In the last 24 hours, America has taken a step in the right direction,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “This election was no easy choice. Christians across America, including myself, grappled with the two flawed candidates who ran for the presidency. President-Elect Donald Trump has promised to choose Supreme Court Justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade, strengthen our national borders and protect religious liberty,” Wildmon continued. “The American people have spoken, and they have elected Donald Trump.

“During this election, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton promised to expand federally funded baby murder in the womb, continue failed Obama-era immigration policies and declared war on religious liberty. Not only would Mrs. Clinton have brought these dangerous positions into the Oval office, she would have also dragged along her lifelong legacy of corruption and lies into the highest office in the land.

“As president of one of the largest pro-family organizations in the country, no matter who is in the White House,” Wildmon continued, “I promise to fight relentlessly for our Judeo-Christian values, just as AFA has done for the last four decades. In order to promulgate godly values in Washington, D.C., AFA needs Christians to come alongside us and stay in the fight. Even though Mr. Trump has won the election and made encouraging promises, now is no time to relax. We must rally the troops and prepare to advance Christian principles throughout America for the months and years to come. We can never give up.”
