Pray for the Christian football coach and the Supreme Court's decision.

The United States Supreme Court heard arguments yesterday in a case involving a former football coach in Washington state.

For seven years, Bremerton High School football coach Joe Kennedy had been quietly walking to the 50-yard line after every game. He then knelt and offered a brief 15-20 second prayer of thanksgiving for his players and the game. That's it.

Then in 2015, someone complained because players and students were joining him on the field when he prayed. The school ordered Coach Kennedy to stop the practice. When he refused, the school fired him. Today he is on his final step to getting his job back and getting back onto the sidelines as a coach.

First Liberty Institute is representing Coach Kennedy in his case, which has been up and down the court system for years. According to First Liberty, "Coach Kennedy engages in private religious expression during non-instructional hours...He neither requests, encourages, nor discourages students from participating in his personal prayers, or coming to where he prays. His prayers neither proselytize nor denigrate the beliefs of others."

TAKE ACTION

Please take a few minutes to pray for Coach Joe Kennedy and First Liberty Institute as they take their case before the Supreme Court.

Pray that the Justices will recognize that religious liberty is a guaranteed right under the Constitution and that they will rightly vote that the religious liberties of Christians are protected …even on the 50-yard line of a high school football field.
