Belly of the Beast (Part 2)

Now that you are familiar with the mother of the abortion movement, I want to take a look at abortion for what it really is: an industry.

What is an industry? According to our good old buddy Merriam-Webster, an industry is a distinct group of productive or profit-making enterprises. Right here is where some rainbow-haired Biden lover would chime in with some regurgitated information, “Well, Planned Parenthood is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit so … you’re wrong.”

While it may be true that Planned Parenthood and other “health” centers are nonprofit organizations on paper, let’s take a look at some numbers from a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) in November of 2023. I’ll let you be the judge:

  • Health Centers received about $21.69 billion in Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) grants. Health Centers, which may be eligible for grants administered by HHS' Health Resources and Services Administration, also received about $53.12 billion in payments from public health coverage programs, including Medicare (for persons aged 65 and over, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with end-stage renal disease), Medicaid (for certain low-income and medically needy individuals), and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP—for certain uninsured, low-income children). Further, as of May 2023, 1,150 Health Centers had received an estimated $2.47 billion in Paycheck Protection Program loans, of which $2.45 billion—including accrued interest on these loans—had been forgiven.
  • Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates received about $148 million in HHS grants or cooperative agreements and $1.54 billion in Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP payments. Planned Parenthood affiliates also received 44 Paycheck Protection Program loans totaling approximately $89 million—the entire amount, including accrued interest, was forgiven.
  • Domestic regional organizations—four privately owned providers of health-related services in various regions of the United States—received about $108 million in Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP payments.
  • International Planned Parenthood Federation received about $2.03 million from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
  • MSI Reproductive Choices received about $1.35 million from USAID.

As per blackburn.senate.gov, the study was released in response to a request from U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Congressman Chris Smith (R-N.J.).

“It is appalling that big abortion providers are continuing to receive billions of dollars in federal taxpayer funding,” Senator Blackburn said in response to the study. “While small businesses struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic, Planned Parenthood illegally siphoned over $90 million from the Paycheck Protection Program, specifically designed to help our mom-and-pop shops keep their doors open. The American people want their tax dollars spent responsibly and in line with our nation’s values — not on the Left’s abortion-on-demand agenda.”

Representative Smith had this to say in conjunction,

“Federal taxpayer dollars should not be funneled to big abortion corporations like Planned Parenthood, which has killed over 9.3 million unborn children since 1970, including 1.11 million between 2019-2021. This money would have been better spent helping the businesses that were forced to close or providing comprehensive medical support for both women and children.”

I don’t know about you, but most 501(3)(c) nonprofits that I am familiar with are struggling to keep their doors open more times than not.

When Margaret Sanger said, “The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it,” she meant it, and her organization paved the way for millions of dollars of taxpayer money to be spent on the murder of unborn children.

She is Hitler and the abortion industry, is her Holocaust.

Planned Parenthood clinic director turned pro-life activist, Abby Johnson, had this to say on the matter at the 2020 Republican National Convention,

“In April [2009], I was awarded Planned Parenthood’s Employee of the Year award and invited to their annual gala where they present the Margaret Sanger award, named for their founder. Now, Margaret Sanger was a racist who believed in eugenics. Her goal, when founding Planned Parenthood, was to eradicate the minority population … every year, Planned Parenthood celebrates its racist roots by presenting the Margaret Sanger award.

“Later in August, my supervisor assigned me a new quota to meet - an abortion quota. I was expected to sell double the abortions performed the previous year. When I pushed back, underscoring Planned Parenthood’s public facing goal of decreasing abortions, I was reprimanded and told, ‘Abortion is how we make our money.’”

You can find more about Johnson’s split from Planned Parenthood here.

The point is, the goal is explicit: target minorities and kill more babies to make more money.
